New this year, Story@Home will have its own track, instead of a separate conference as they did last year.
Story@Home "provides classes and performances by award-winning storytellers, performers and speakers to help you discover how to preserve and share your stories as part of your family history pursuits."
Since I serve on the Board of Directors for Story@Home, I thought I would share with you some of my insider information to help you get more out of your RootsTech experience.
RootsTech keynote presenter Syd Lieberman and nationally known storyteller Kim Weitkamp are two presenters that you won't want to miss. They make telling family stories seem so effortless and engaging. Don't let that fool you! These stories are skillfully crafted and if you want to learn how to do that yourself - check out the free Story@Home Presents: An Evening of StoryTelling on Friday night.
Also check out the Mormon Tabernacle mini-concert on Thursday night. The performance they gave during the NGS conference was unforgettable, and can promise that this will be the same.
Story@Home will have a center booth in the exhibitors hall; come prepared to share a story in the iTell booth. Experts will help prepare you with story prompts - then you record your 15 minute, audio or video story. Your story will be burned to a disk right there or they will email you an mp3 file of your session. Best of all its Free!
The booth will also have 15 minute workshops on:
- Creating a Family Library
- Writing is a 2nd Language
- Snapshots: Getting Started
